G1 / FNCG
Factor-Neutral Convergence
The presently governed Generator candidate. Research concerns relative dislocations and convergence mechanisms structured to reduce broad directional exposure.

Thesis
Trading ideas are abundant. Durable economic edge is not.
RTNYC is being built around the premise that a strategy should not receive capital simply because it performs well in a backtest.

Candidate strategies progress through a controlled research process before capital deployment can be considered. Capital comes late in the process.
Core system
A capital-generating operating system under development by Rockaway Trading NYC.
The Penny Engine is designed to organize the discovery, testing, validation, governance, measurement, and eventual deployment of systematic return-generation mechanisms.

Operating premise
The Penny Engine does not assume that any strategy possesses economic edge. Candidate Generators must earn promotion through evidence.
RTNYC → Penny Engine → Generators
RTNYC is the organization. The Penny Engine is the system it develops. Generators are candidate economic mechanisms researched within that system. Each layer constrains the one below it.
Generator taxonomy
The Penny Engine defines multiple economically distinct Generator families. Formal research, admission, validation, and promotion are governed separately for each family.
Presently governed
G1 / FNCG is the current governed Generator candidate. G2 through G6 remain taxonomy only.
G1 / FNCG
The presently governed Generator candidate. Research concerns relative dislocations and convergence mechanisms structured to reduce broad directional exposure.
G2 / TSMG
Candidate Generator family covering sustained directional behavior and trend-persistence mechanisms.
G3 / VRVG
Candidate Generator family covering volatility, correlation, and related relative-value mechanisms.
G4 / CSRVG
Candidate Generator family covering persistent relative dispersion across instruments, assets, or peer groups.
G5 / CRPG
Candidate Generator family covering compensated risk exposures, term structures, and persistent carry mechanisms.
G6 / ESDG
Candidate Generator family covering corporate, index, institutional, and market-structure events that may produce temporary dislocations.
Public materials describe research architecture—not proprietary strategy rules, signals, parameterization, datasets, execution logic, candidate instruments, or implementation details.

Capital governance
The Penny Engine is being designed so that access to capital is conditional on evidence, risk controls, and governed promotion—not backtest performance alone.
D-01
Protect
Capital preservation and risk constraints.
D-02
Pair
Structure exposures deliberately.
D-03
Profit
Economic output must be demonstrated rather than assumed.
D-04
Pause
Systems can deny capital, demote strategies, or halt activity.
Governance ruleset
Research is separated from deployment.
Synthetic results are not represented as market results.
Backtests do not authorize capital.
Transaction costs and execution uncertainty matter.
Economic edge must survive out-of-sample evaluation.
Risk controls can deny capital.
Strategies can be demoted or halted.
Scaling follows demonstrated edge—not the reverse.
Measurement
RTNYC uses the Economic Flow Unit (EFU) as an internal measurement framework for expressing rates of capital generation.
Economic Flow Unit
Internal measurement framework
1 EFU = $0.01 / second
IF SUSTAINED CONTINUOUSLY
EFU is a measurement target—not a representation, forecast, or guarantee of investment performance.
EFU provides a common vocabulary for measuring economic output across strategies, time horizons, and system components.
Current state
RTNYC distinguishes research progress from demonstrated economic performance. Current states are stated explicitly rather than inferred from prototypes, simulations, or backtests.
STATUS AS OF 17 AUG 2026
SITE STATE / v0.1.1
SYS-PE
Active internal research state. Not a representation of production maturity or performance.
GEN-G1
The presently governed Generator candidate. No validated economic edge has been established.
GEN-G2-G6
Defined as taxonomy. No formal Generator admission, governed research state, or validation has occurred.
CAP-00
No governed state transition to live capital has been authorized.
Here is the system by which a strategy earns authorization for capital deployment.
Economic edge is a research conclusion, not a design assumption.
Capital deployment is a governed state transition—not the default destination of a backtest.
